Doc Holliday Trail

Decided to go up the Doc Holliday trail because it's only a few blocks from our house & not all of the kids have been up it yet. Not the most scenic trail, but you can see most of Glenwood and get a good look at the valley.

Fairly steep walk up with quite a drop-off on one side of the trail.

The required photo of Doc Holliday's grave marker.

And right behind those trees is our house, you can see Kelly's work van out front.

I think it's springtime.

We saw paragliders today - a sure sign that spring is really here, even though there is still snow on top of the mountain where they launch.

Kelly's friend & co-worker had to fix Robert De Niro's hot tub last week. I don't think he's in the "circle of trust" yet...

Here's some trails Kelly's been on this year. Is it a bad or good sign when the tire is off the ground?

Grizzly Creek Trail

We've had a wonderful time going on this trail. The creek is beautiful with many rocks to climb on. Caleb is fearless and scares me to death sometimes.

Caleb was totally prepared to scoot his way across on this tree.

There were hundreds of butterflies, these were the two I was lucky enough to catch with the camera.

Clear, freezing water.

This is the firepit that Caleb fell into 5 seconds after I took this picture.

Here is were the trail gets a bit more challenging. There is a steep cliff going up on the right & an even steeper one going down on the left right into the creek. We didn't go much further because with just me & 4 kids I was pretty nervous.

There were alot of people rafting & kayaking on the river. These brilliant folks either didn't notice or didn't care that the boat ramp was blocked off so they just backed their truck down these stairs to get to the water.

Here they are taking the truck & raft back up the stairs. Caleb got scared seeing a truck go up steps that he was just walking on so we didn't stick around to see if they would make it.

I think Kate really looks like Ariel in this picture.

Thanks for the Spiderman boxers grandma, you can still tell the 2 boys apart but it is getting harder.

Grandma!!

We all had a wonderful time while Grandma visited. I'm fairly certain Grandma was ready for a spa treatment & silence when she left. Kaitlyn made Grandma play dress-up using Kaitlyn's dress-up clothes - nice skirt mom.
Had fun at the park.

We went to the area around Hanging Lake and found many interesting things & places to explore. Caleb, Josh & Grandma did a little cave exploring.

This is the actual trail to Hanging Lake - note : not a good idea to hike it in sparkly dress-up shoes.

Path under both lanes of the interstate.
